Before you buy
What we need from you
Keep this simple. Most of it takes one short form after checkout. Required items keep the build moving. Optional items make it better.
01 / Required
Must have to start
Everything below keeps the build moving. Most of it takes one short form.
-
Business basics
Business name, what you do, who you serve, service area, and the one thing you want the site to do (call, enquire, visit).
-
Contact details
Phone, email, address if relevant, opening hours if you have them, and social links you want shown.
-
Content starting point
A few sentences about the business, your main services, and anything you never want said. Rough notes are fine.
02 / Process
What happens next
- 01
Pay the flat fee
Secure checkout via Stripe. Optional CMS is +$100 at the same time if you want self-editing later.
- 02
Fill the brief
A short form. Ten minutes if you already know your services and contact details.
- 03
We build and preview
You get a preview link. Two rounds of reasonable tweaks after launch. Then it goes live on your domain.
03 / Optional
Nice to have
-
Logo and brand colours
If you have a logo file and colours, send them. If not, we can use a clean text mark.
-
Photos of your work
Real photos beat stock. Phones are fine. Before/after, job site, team, or storefront all help.
-
Domain preference
Tell us the domain you already own, or the name you want. We can register or connect it.

+£100A CMS - a content management system - is the part that lets you make changes to the site yourself once it is live. Update headings, service copy, FAQs, facts and figures, add new pages of text, even swap the odd image - all without emailing a developer. It is not a drag-and-drop visual editor. Framer and Webflow are design systems for redesigning the layout, and most businesses do not need to do that monthly; what you need is leads.
- · Simple fields, not a bloated dashboard
- · Change copy after launch without a rebuild
- · Add text or images without touching the design
- · Still own the code and the files
Two rounds of tweaks included.
Once the site is live, two rounds of reasonable copy, presentation, and layout tweaks are included within the existing design. Not a second build. Not unlimited redesigns.
- · Reasonable copy changes
- · Presentation tweaks
- · Layout adjustments inside the existing design
- · Extra pages
- · New functionality or major integrations
- · A different design direction
UK-specific requirements
A few notes if you're a UK business buying through 500quidsite.co.uk - most are optional nice-to-haves, but they keep things tidy.
Worth deciding before the brief: which towns you actually want to rank for. A plumber in Leeds does better naming the postcode areas they cover than claiming all of Yorkshire, and search engines reward the specificity too. List your real service area in the brief and the location pages get built around it.
On the consumer-law side, the usual trip hazards are superlatives you cannot substantiate, reviews presented as genuine when they are not, and prices that turn out to be "from" prices. Keep the copy honest and specific; we will flag anything obvious during the build, but the accuracy of claims about your trade is yours to own.
You don't need to be a Ltd Company or VAT-registered to buy a £500 website from us. Sole traders are fine. We just need a business name, contact email, and a domain (we can register one for you).
We'll register your .co.uk, .uk, or .com domain on your behalf at cost (around £10-£15/year), or transfer one you already own. Always registered in your name through your Nominet account - never ours.
We set up Privacy Policy and Cookies notice templates that cover the basics for UK/EU GDPR compliance. You're responsible for accuracy and any business-specific clauses, but the boilerplate is there.
Default is our managed edge hosting (served from London and Manchester). If you need UK-only data hosting for compliance, we can deploy to Krystal, IONOS UK, or AWS eu-west-2 at cost. Mention it in the brief.
